Winter/Summer Programs

Willowbrook offers winter and summer programs. The winter session is during the break in December. The summer program runs throughout the summer in weekly sessions. Each weekly session follows a fun curriculum unit. Parents can pick and choose the weekly sessions according to their summer schedule. The daily routine for both the winter and summer program includes circle time (songs and stories), snack, project time (art, science, cooking), group game, lunch, nap, water play(summer) and dismissal.

The tuition fees are ¥55,000 per week for Willowbrook students and ¥60,000 per week for non-Willowbrook students. The tuition fee includes a 5% consumption tax.

If you are interested in our summer program, please contact the office.

Summer Fun at Willowbrook 2010!

Themes are changed on a weekly basis during summer school and include fun topics such as water, bubbles, little scientists and much more!  Although the schedule resembles the regular school year schedule, the children also have ample time to play on the balcony where they can enjoy the paddling pool, slide and the sandpit.  Willowbrook International School will offer two different programs during the summer holidays.

1) The English Program: Offered between June 14th and August 6th

The English course is for all Willowbrook children from current Kaze age to 5 years old, as well as 3-6 year old non-Willowbrook students.

2) The Japanese Immersion Program: Offered between June 14th and July 16th

The Japanese course is for children who are 3-5 years old.  Current Yama Class children are welcome even if they have not turned 3 yet and non-Willowbrook children with Japanese ability are welcome.

*3-6 year old non-Willowbrook students are welcome to attend summer school for either program if they are:

-friends of current/former Willowbrook families or

-have attended our summer/winter program before or

-have applied for the 2010-2011 school year

Please contact the office for the application form and return it to us by May 14th 2010, if you are interested in enrolling your child in one of our summer school classes.  Changes may not be possible after June 1st due to staffing issues.  If you know a family who is interested in sending their child to one of our programs, please let us know.  For those, the child must be 3 years old by June 13th, 2010 and we may ask to have an interview with the parents before starting the program.

We would like to remind you that summer school teachers and classrooms may change weekly and that the classes may be mixed age.  Some children may have difficultly in adjusting in these circumstances and may not enjoy the program.  In such cases, the teachers may recommend reconsidering the child’s enrollment.  The number of classes and the ages of the children depends on the number of children registered that week.  We may consider canceling the final weeks if there is insufficient enrollment.
