.
Our office is generally open from 8am-5pm M-F.
1. Prospective parents should contact the school office to set up an appointment to observe the school with their child. School visits are available on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9:00am and 10:00am. You may be touring the school with one other family.
2. An office staff person will meet you and your child and show you around the school, allowing time for you and your child to observe your child’s classroom. If necessary, Willowbrook may request a subsequent visit with your child so that the teachers of your child’s age level classroom can observe your child.
3. Since it is essential for success in early childhood education, Willowbrook asks each prospective parent to understand the school’s philosophy and policies. The philosophy and policies are outlined in the Policy Booklet. The Policy Booklet is available from the school office.
4. If prospective parents have determined a match for their child, then an application form is filled out and forwarded to the school.
5. Beginning from August 25th, 2008, we will charge an application fee of 10,000yen per child for for new familes.
6. Willowbrook will contact the parents as soon as possible to communicate admissions decisions. If there is a waiting list, Willowbrook will also communicate this status. Admissions and wait-list priority is considered in the following order:
- Current families
- Friends of current or alumni families
- New families
As families working in Tokyo are often transferred mid-year, Willowbrook continues to manage its waitlist and contact prospective parents for mid-year admissions.
7. Once you have been tentatively offered a position, you will be asked to come in for a second interview without your child, to discuss school policies and any other relevant issues. Final offers of admission are made at the satisfactory conclusion of this interview.
Your child’s class is based on his/her birthday, observation and, in some cases, results of in-house assessment.
